Career

During my career I have enjoyed working with a huge variety of clients from pure design to advertising. Clients the likes of Nike, Tiger Wheels, Sunday Times, Financial Mail, Business Day, Fila, Skechers, Sotheby's, Warner Lambert, The Weekender, Canderel, Primedia Outdoor and loads more. I have worked my way through the ranks and have been a creative director for the last 18 years. I have a creative mind and am able to think strategically and apply marketing strategies across the board, including above the line, through the line and below the line. I work effectively in a team and can adapt easily to new situations. I think I am quite friendly and approachable and am proficient in client presentations. I also have a thorough knowledge of the production and printing processes and am able to implement production for print ready material. I have trained, coached and guided young designers and marketers for a number of years. I also completed a Marketing Management certificate with Wits Business School. I have also undertaken a number of television and radio commercials which are not available on my portfolio.

Work Philosophy

Creativity is an attitude before anything else. My state of mind is almost always reliant on my attitude to things and people around me. There will always be someone out there who is better than I am so my drive to improve myself and reach for greater heights never slumbers. I never give up and never lose the passion to produce great work. Being passionate and excited about what I do is what drives my creativity.

Inspiration

People who have a good attitude towards life inspire me - they make me want to be the same. Great design in itself is truly inspirational "I wish I had done that or I wish I had thought of that" not to mention great designers such as Andy Warhol, one of my favourites. David Carson, of course. I adore his typography. And the early workings of the inimitable Pablo Picasso. I also love the passion and creativity portrayed by the totally fabulous Pink Floyd. Their lyrics are second to none as is their music. Hip-hop on the other hand really rocks me and I find I cannot possibly sit still or not have a smile on my face when I listen to it. My famiily obviously is the most inspirational in my life. They always seem to have the ability to dish out the unexpected. They love the most and frustrate the most - talk about an all-in-one package deal.
